Prerequisites

Before updating the unit of measure:

  • Ensure relevant settings in Company Settings (e.g., Currency, Office Locations, Business Units) are properly configured by your Workspace Administrator.

  • Verify that you have the necessary permissions to edit Project Settings.

Overview

This article explains how to access and update:

  • Gross Area, Rentable Area, and Usable Area.

  • How to handle different Unit of Measure types.

Process

1. Accessing Unit of Measure Settings

  1. Select the Project from the Project List.

  2. In the left-hand project menu, click Project Settings.

  3. Navigate to the Project Sites tab.

2. Adding or Editing a Project Site Address

  • If your project does not have an address:

    • Click Add a Project Site.

    • Fill in the required details.

  • If your project already has an address:

    • Select the existing site to edit the details.

Multisite Behaviour When Adding Project Sites

When you add more than one project site, the system will automatically enable Multisite, meaning the project will now behave like a multi-location project across modules like Budget, Contracts, Invoicing, and more.

Here's how it works:

  • Multisite activates as soon as a second site is added to the project.

  • You won’t see any visual change in the project layout, but the system will begin requiring site-specific inputs in related modules.

If your project is already Multisite, any additional sites you add through Project Settings will:

  • Automatically appear as new sections in the Project Budget, under their site name.

  • These new site sections will appear empty by default—no cost codes, categories, or values will be populated until you manually assign a budget template or input data.

👉 You can learn more about how this impacts other modules by visiting the Multisite Overview article

3. Updating Unit of Measure and Area Metrics

  1. Once inside the Project Sites, locate the following fields:

    • Gross Area

    • Rentable Area

    • Usable Area

  2. Select the Unit of Measure:

    • Imperial: Different fields appear, with specific area unit options.

    • Metric: Displays corresponding metric units.

    • Power: No unit of measure is required.

    • Volume: Offers volume-based unit selections.

  3. Fill in the appropriate values based on your selection.

Note:

  • The available fields will automatically adjust based on the selected unit type.
