Overview

INGENIOUS.BUILD revolutionizes the way subcontractors communicate RFIs (Requests for Information) with General Contractors. By providing a streamlined platform for submitting and managing RFIs, INGENIOUS.BUILD empowers subcontractors to effortlessly turn Sub RFIs into Project RFIs with just a few clicks.

Prerequisites

Only General Contractor workspace users can review sub RFIs, and you must have at least one Sub RFI in 'Submitted' status.

Process

Reviewing a Sub RFI

  1. On a Sub RFI with 'Submitted' status, you can click Approve as Official Solution next to the Proposed Solution.

  2. Here, you can add a Comment then click Approve:

  3. You can click the three dots on the top right of your screen to Ask for Clarification, Change Ball in Court, Revert to Draft, or Export to PDF.

  4. If you revert the RFI to Draft, you will have the option to Edit the RFI.

  5. The RFI slide out modal will have pre-filled information from the Sub RFI. You may edit the information as needed, and specify the Official Reviewer whom the Project RFI will be submitted to.

  6. Save as Draft or Submit when you are ready.

  7. Once you're satisfied with the changes, click Submit RFI.

  8. To convert the Sub RFI into a Project RFI, click Convert to Project RFI and assign an Official Design Reviewer.

  9. You can Submit to Official Reviewer or Save as Project RFI in Draft.

Responding to a Sub RFI

As the RFI Manager (or as a user within the same workspace) indicated on a Sub RFI, you can respond to a Sub RFI which will change the status to 'Responded' and notify the Subcontractor Initiator.

By using INGENIOUS.BUILD, both subcontractors and general contractors will experience a more efficient, transparent, and collaborative RFI management process that accelerates project timelines and improves overall communication.
