Overview

Traditionally, subcontractors have communicated their RFIs by email or informally over the phone. Now, they can submit RFIs to General Contractors on Ingenious which enables them to turn a Sub RFI into a Project RFI in just a few clicks!

Pre-requisites

Only General Contractor workspace users can review sub RFIs, and you must have at least one Sub RFI in 'Submitted' status.

Process

Reviewing a Sub RFI

  1. On a Sub RFI with 'Submitted' status, as a user in a GC workspace, you can click 'Review' on the top right corner and see the RFI slide out modal with pre-filled information from the Sub RFI

  2. You may edit the information as needed, and specify the Official Reviewer whom the Project RFI will be submitted to

  3. Save as draft or submit when you are ready

When the Sub RFI is turned into a Project RFI, there will be a banner on the Sub RFI linking it to the new Project RFI as shown below:

Responding to a Sub RFI

As the RFI Manager (or as a user within the same workspace) indicated on a Sub RFI, you can respond to a Sub RFI which will change the status and notify the Subcontractor Initiator.
