Import a Schedule

How to Import a Project Schedule and which file types and sizes are supported.

Overview

Importing schedules is simple and efficient. Start by providing a schedule name, uploading your file, and clicking "Import." Additionally, multiple imported files can be combined into a single schedule for added flexibility.


Prerequisites

When creating a project the system with generate a Project Schedule. You can use this schedule to act as your New Schedule rather than creating one using the step below.


Process

  1. Navigate to the schedule module

  2. Click Create New Schedule in the top right corner

  3. Select the Import Schedule option > Drag and drop the desired schedule

    1. Supported file formats include Microsoft Project, Primavera, and Excel files formatted with an Ingenious template.

  4. Toggle Autolink Analytical Milestones to auto-set them as the first and last milestones in your imported schedule.

Note: Our platform supports importing up to 30 MB of data into the schedule module. If you need to import more, please contact our support team using the chat in the bottom right corner of your screen.

5. Once imported, your schedule will populate the following items if formatted properly:

  • Activity ID

  • Helper Column

  • Activity Name*

  • Parent Activity ID*

  • Project Commencement Date (Anticipated)

  • Project Completion Date (Anticipated)

  • Duration

  • Working Days (Estimate)

  • Progress

  • Type

  • Category

Import into an Existing Schedule

You can import into an existing schedule such as the system generated on by clicking Edit and then the ellipsis at the top right and selecting Import Schedule.

Loading from a Template

Beyond the three supported import formats, you can also choose the Add Schedule Template option. This feature allows you to select from predefined templates set up by your Administrator, streamlining the process further.


Schedule Sharing

Once a Schedule is published no one will be able to view or edit it until explicetely shared.

  • You can share this by clicking the +Share or + icon button and Inviting the necessary internal and external project members.

  • They will default to View Only access and you can grant them edit access by change the dropdown shown below
