The Punch Item functionality includes a range of features designed to improve usability, streamline workflows, and enhance clarity across web and mobile platforms. These features modernize punch item creation, editing, and viewing while supporting accountability and efficient management.
Key Features
Punch Create/Edit Modals
The Create/Edit Slideout uses reorganized field groups, improved spacing, and modern styling, aligning with the view mode for consistency. A Responsible Contractor field supports enhanced accountability.
Full Page Punch Item View Mode
Punch items open in a full page, read-only View Mode, featuring a clear layout, drawing references, and files. This is the default view when opening punch items, with image/photo thumbnails displayed by default.
Punch Listing Page
The listing page displays Ball in Court and Responsible Contractor fields for each punch item, providing instant clarity on ownership and accountability.
Optional Title Field in Punch Creation
Titles are not required when creating punch items on mobile or web. Auto-generated placeholder titles (e.g., "Placeholder") appear in the list and breadcrumbs for simplicity.
Responsible Contractor Field
Assign accountability by selecting a Responsible Contractor from a searchable dropdown populated from the project directory, streamlining the assignment process during punch creation or editing.
Role Based Edit Permissions
Originators and Members: Full edit access to punch item details, attachments, and status.
Responsible Contractors: Limited to:
Proposing solutions with notes and files, populating a separate comment section.
Updating the Ball in Court assignment.
All permissions are enforced across mobile and web.
Punch Listing Exports to PDF
Export punch items from the listing page with two options, respecting applied filters:
Export Detail Report: Includes full punch item data with descriptions, images, drawings, and locations.
Export Summary Report: Includes the Punch List you are currently viewing in a row format.
Skinny Punch View on Forms & Drawings
Clicking a punch stamp on a form or drawing opens a streamlined view with three tabs: Information, Responses, and Details, improving accessibility and focus.
Bulk Edit Add Members
Add or replace members via Bulk Edit for punch items, using the same layout as Ball in Court and Responsible Contractor assignments.
Automatic Punch List Creation from Forms
Punch items generated from a Form automatically create a punch list named using the format {Form Completion Date} {Form Name}, with all related punch items auto-associated, eliminating manual organization.
Overdue Date Indicator
Punch items display a red overdue date alert when the due date has passed, enabling quick identification and prioritization of overdue tasks.
Next/Previous Navigation
Navigate between punch items without returning to the list:
Web: Use arrow buttons in the header.
Mobile: Swipe left or right for seamless transitions.
Technical Details
Optimized performance for punch item creation and editing.

API level permission enforcement for secure and reliable access.
