We are excited to announce the release of INGENIOUS 2.0, our biggest release to date, which incorporates the feedback from you, our valued customers. Hear more from our CEO here. We have heard your need for greater platform flexibility, usability, and stability and are thrilled to share the following updates. We can't wait to see what you will accomplish using INGENIOUS 2.0!

So, what's included in this release?

Project Creation

We have updated workflows in the platform to include concise, easy-to-follow steps. When entering an item you will be guided through each step of the workflow, starting with project creation.

  • We will guide you through entering basic project details and moving on to the next step of adding your team members.

  • We have also added Project Information fields for enhanced project tracking. Previously these details could only be entered in Project Settings.

Budget

You needed a way to track large projects with a detailed cost code structure and multiple phases, and a way to quickly prepare budgets. We have made the following updates to our Master Project Budget:

  • Use up to FOUR tiers in your cost code structure. The old structure was Category > Cost Code. The new structure is Category > Sub-Category > Sub-Category > Cost Code. We will support budgets with two, three, or four tiers.

  • Add Phases to your budget. If your project has multiple facets that you need to track separately all in the same budget, separate your budget using Phases. For example, you could have a Phase for Building A and a Phase for Building B. The budget and costs for each building can be tracked separately on one Master Project Budget.

  • Using a cost code template, but you realized you need a few project-specific edits? Edit the category and cost code names directly on the budget without impacting the template and without having to create a brand-new category or code.

  • Type directly into the Original Budget column to prepare your budget instead of entering budget line items. You can still use budget line items if that is your preference!

  • Questions? Check out our Budget FAQs.

Bid Packages

We've gotten a lot of questions about when a bid package is complete and ready to send and how to send the bid package to your bidders.

  • We have updated the way to send Bid Packages. Rather than preparing your bidder's list as part of the bid package creation, create and save your bid package and then send it out.

  • Send the bid package to existing contacts or add new contacts from here.

Contracts

Many of you use INGENIOUS Contracts to enter contracts that have already been prepared, approved, and executed outside of the INGENIOUS platform. Entering those contracts in INGENIOUS involved too many clicks and duplicative work and approvals. Additionally, we needed more flexibility after contract execution, and more clarity in our terminology.

  • Specify when you are entering a contract that has already been executed outside of INGENIOUS. Once you have entered the contract details, simply click Execute to mark it as executed. There will not be an additional approval step or approval workflow.

  • The items on the contract were previously broken out using Quoted Items > Phases > Tasks. We have changed this terminology to Schedule of Values / Work Breakdown Structure: WBS 1 > WBS 2 > WBS 3.

  • Change the cost code on a contract after contract execution!

Contract Changes (Change Orders & Amendments)

INGENIOUS 2.0 aims to simplify and streamline!

  • Create Change Orders, Amendments (used in GMP contracts), and Contract Change Request Packages (formerly CORs) from one place.

Please note that CORs/Contract Change Request Packages (CCRPs) will be temporarily unavailable with the release of INGENIOUS 2.0. We expect CCRPs to be live by early July. Please reach out to your Account Manager if you have any questions.

  • Approve and execute a Change Order with fewer clicks.

  • Enter cleaner $0 Change Orders.

Invoicing & Pay Applications

My Invoice, Vendor Invoice, and Retention Invoice have been combined into a single invoice creation flow. Additionally, you can now:

Please note that the Cash Flow feature will be temporarily unavailable with the release of INGENIOUS 2.0. We expect it to be live by mid-July. Please reach out to your Account Manager if you have any questions.

Buildings / Sites - new feature!

Buildings / Sites is only available in Owner and Owner's Rep workspace types.

Many of our customers manage buildings and need a way to easily track the ongoing projects in a building and their associated tenants. Use our brand new Buildings / Sites feature to:

  • Create new or view and manage existing buildings / sites. All previously entered Project Site Addresses will automatically become a Building / Site in your workspace!

  • Add details such as Subsites, Occupants, Asset Type, and more.

  • Manage who can access your Building / Site.

Contacts

We know it's essential to be able to quickly add new members, both internal and external, to a project. With the new contacts modal:

  • Choose between two options: Bookmark or Invite.

  • Add new contacts in fewer clicks and from multiple areas of the project.

  • We have also updated our backend infrastructure to simplify how contact information is stored, resulting in greater platform stability.

Reports (coming soon!)

Our customers are eager to use the data they have in INGENIOUS to create reports and gather insights. With our new reporting feature, create custom reports with an in-platform report writer. No need to export your data out and import into another tool!

Migrated Data

You may be wondering what will happen to your existing project data. No need to worry! All existing project data has been migrated, and you can start using the INGENIOUS 2.0 features right away!
