Overview
Use our Buildings / Sites feature for building management. This article will cover who can see your building/site and the difference between adding someone as a Viewer or Editor.
Note: Buildings / Sites is only available in Owner and Owner's Rep workspace types.
Prerequisites
Add a Building / Site to use the management features listed below. With the release of the Buildings / Sites feature, all of your existing Project Site Addresses will automatically become a Building / Site in your workspace!
Process
Only users in your workspace can be added to your Building / Site.
If you are a workspace Administrator:
You will have Edit rights for all Buildings. The below permissions apply if you are not a workspace Administrator.
If you are not a Workspace Administrator:
You will only see Buildings for which you have been added as a Viewer or Editor (similar to how you will only see Projects for which you are on the project team).
If you create a Building/Site:
If you are on a project team, and your project is associated with an existing Building:
You will be a Viewer of that Building UNLESS that building is marked as Confidential.
If a Building/Site is marked as Confidential:
A user will only be able to see this Building if they are added to it as a Viewer or Editor.
How does this relate to the Projects tab on each Building?
If you are an Editor of a Building, on the Projects tab for that Building, you will see all of the projects associated with it. You will only be able to open the associated projects if you are on the project team.
If you are a Viewer of a Building, on the Projects tab for that Building, you will only see associated projects for which you are on the project team.
Subsites follow the same logic as Buildings. A subsite within a Building can have different permissions than the Building.
