Note: The spreadsheet template for importing contacts is attached at the bottom of this article. Download it before starting the import.
Overview
Contacts and their associated companies can be imported into a workspace in bulk using a spreadsheet template. Imported contacts are automatically linked to their companies based on their email domain, using the workspace's trusted domain configuration.
Prerequisites
The import template file (attached at the bottom of this article).
Contacts to import in a
.xlsor.xlsxfile that matches the template format exactly.
Process
Prepare the spreadsheet
Download the spreadsheet template attached to this article.
Populate the template with your contacts. The spreadsheet must match the required format exactly.
Save the file as
.xlsor.xlsx. No other file types are supported.
Import the contacts
From the workspace left navigation, click Contacts → Contacts.
Click the Import/Export icon in the top right and select Import Contacts.
In the popup, click Upload File and select your spreadsheet.
The system processes the file and uploads the contacts automatically.
How trusted domains link contacts to companies
When a contact is imported (or added individually):
If the contact's email domain matches an existing trusted domain in the workspace, the associated company is auto-selected, and the contact is linked to it.
If no trusted domain match is found, the domain from the contact's email is used to create a new company automatically.
Verification
Review the imported contacts to confirm all details are correct.
Contacts are assigned to the workspace associated with their company.
Once invited, contacts can accept the invitation to gain access and collaborate on projects.
Key Notes
Contacts must be added before companies. Companies cannot exist independently in the workspace.
Trusted domains streamline consistent company creation across imports and individual adds.
