Understanding Unallocated Funds and Savings in the Budget

Transfer funds by entering the amount to move from Unallocated Funds to Savings.

Written by JD Williams

Overview

You can now move funds to Savings more intuitively by entering the exact amount you want to transfer, without needing to calculate what should remain in Unallocated Funds.

This makes it faster and easier to allocate excess budget directly into Savings while keeping project balances updated automatically.

Process

You can now enter the amount you want to move to Savings, instead of specifying what should remain unallocated.

  1. Within the Project Budget, scroll over to Column L (Unallocated Funds).

  2. Click the "Swap" or "Exchange" button.

  3. Add the Amount to transfer to Savings. Add a note. Click Transfer Funds.

  4. The Unallocated Fund will now be reduced by the amount transferred to Savings.

  5. The amount transferred to Savings can now be found in Column P (Savings).

Now you know how to move project funds into Savings using the updated transfer workflow, making it easier to manage Unallocated Funds and keep your project budget organized with less manual calculation.
