Create and manage lists of currency conversions that can be applied to Project Budgets across your workspace.

Overview

Currency Conversion Templates let you define exchange rates between currencies and apply them to Project Budgets. Once a template is configured, it can be reused across any project in your workspace, ensuring consistent rates are applied to multi-currency budgets.

Process

1. Open the Currency Conversion Templates list

From Lists & Templates, locate the Currency Conversion card and click View Currency Conversion Templates. The Currency Conversion templates list opens.

2. Add a new template

a. Click Add template in the top right corner. An Add Currency Conversion Template dialog opens.

b. In the Enter a New Template Name field, enter a name for the template. You can rename it later.

c. Click Add. The new template appears in the list.

3. Configure conversions within the template

a. Click the template name in the list to open it.

b. (Optional) Enter a Template description to give context about the template. Max 144 characters.

c. Click + Add New Conversion in the top right. A new row appears with editable fields.

d. In the From field, select the source currency.

e. In the To field, select the destination currency.

f. In the Conversion Rate field, enter the value of 1 unit of the From currency expressed in the To currency. For example, if 1 AFN equals 5 USD, enter 5.

g. Click the green checkmark to save the row, or the red X to discard it.

h. Repeat for additional currency pairs as needed.

i. (Optional) Use the Group by dropdown above the conversion rows to group entries by currency.

j. When finished, click Save template in the top right.

4. Edit an existing template

To update a template after it has been saved:

a. From the Currency Conversion templates list, click the template name to open it.

b. Click Edit in the top right corner.

c. To edit an existing conversion row, click the pencil icon on that row. To remove a row, click the trash icon.

d. Make your changes, then click Save template.

Note: The ability to edit templates depends on your workspace-configured account type. If you don't see the Edit button, your account does not have permission to edit Currency Conversion Templates.

5. Apply a template to a Project Budget

To apply a currency conversion template to a project's budget:

a. Open the relevant project's Project Budget.

b. Click the currency selector in the top right of the budget (above the budget view selector). A Currency Conversion dropdown opens, showing the project's Base Currency.

c. Click Add Currency Conversion from Template.

d. Select the template you want to apply.

Once applied, the budget can display values in the additional currencies defined by the template.

Note: Conversion rates are not updated automatically. For multi-currency projects, review and update rates regularly so your budgets reflect the latest rates.
