Overview

Budget line items are a way to add more detail to your cost codes within the project budget. The benefit of budget line item templates is that they can be referenced for any project budget despite the project cost codes specified.

Process

Creating a List

  1. Within Lists & Templates, click on View Budget Line Groups

  2. Click Add List at the top right corner, and enter in a name. This can be edited at a later time.

  3. Specify the currency and units that this list will use. The list will default to the currency and unit of measure set for your workspace within Company Settings, but you have the ability to change them.

Note: A budget line item list will only be available on a project with the same settings. For example, if a project is using USD, it will only be able to use budget line item templates also using USD.

  4. Click Add Budget Line Item to start adding budget line items.

  5. Add a title for the budget line item. This is the only required field. You can also add a unit of measure, unit price, and description.

  6. Once you are done adding budget line items, you can now create a template from this list!

Creating a Template

  1. Click on the Templates tab at the top.

  2. Click Add Template at the top right corner. You will be prompted to name the template, which can be edited later.

  3. On this page, you are able to edit the Template Name, add a description to help your employees find this template, and add in Line Items from the List you just created.

  4. To add Line Items from the list, select the ones you'd like to add, and then click the right arrow to bring it over to the template. Use the double arrow to bring all of them over if applicable.

  5. Once you are done, click Actions > Save Template. You can now use this template on your Meeting Minutes!
