Starting a Contract from a Proposal in a Bid Package

How to convert an accepted proposal in a Bid Package into a project contract.

Written by Jackie Weinstein

Overview

Once a proposal is selected within a Bid Package, it can be posted to the Project Budget and then converted into a project contract without manually re-entering the details.

Prerequisites

  • A Bid Package must exist in the project with at least one submitted proposal.

  • You must have permission to manage contracts on the project.

Process

  1. Open the Bid Packages module and open the Bid Package containing the proposal you want to convert.

  2. Click the three-dot menu beside the proposal, then select Post to ACR. The proposal's status changes to Pending Contract.

  3. Click Proceed to Contract. A confirmation dialog opens asking whether to notify the bidder — choose the option that fits, then confirm.

  4. The contract is created in the Project Contracts module. From here, you can:

    • Edit the contract to add remaining details (dates, cost codes, insurance, etc.).

    • Delete the contract if it was created in error.

    • Upload Draft Contract Document to attach the draft agreement.

  5. Complete the contract details and proceed with execution. For execution steps, see Executing a Project Contract.
