Overview

With Budget Layout Views in INGENIOUS.BUILD, you can optimize how you visualize project budgets, simplifying complex financial data into actionable insights. This feature allows both standardized and personalized views, helping teams work more efficiently while maintaining control across projects.

Prerequisites

  • Company Templates require Lists and Templates permissions (typically Admins).

  • Users without these permissions can still create and manage Your Templates.

  • Available in all enterprise level workspaces.

Process

Creating a Budget Layout View

  1. Navigate to Lists and Templates.

  2. Select Budget Layout Views.

  3. Click Create New Template

  4. Enter a Template Name.

  5. Choose where would you like to save the template:

    • Company Templates

    • Your Templates

  6. Select the Budget Type:

    • My Budget

    • Owner Budget

  7. Select the desired Budget/ACR Columns to include.

  8. Use the > arrow to add or remove columns from the layout.

  9. Use the >> double-arrow to add or remove all columns at once.

  10. After finalizing your selections, click Save Layout.

Creating a Layout View from a Project Budget

  1. Within your project, open the Project Budget.

  2. On the right-hand side of the screen, click the Layout View dropdown.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the dropdown and click Create New Layout.​

  4. Enter a Layout View Name.

  5. Choose where to save the layout:

    • Company Templates

    • Your Templates

  6. Click Save to create the new layout view.

Applying a Budget Layout View

  • On the right-hand side of the screen, click the Layout View dropdown.

  • Select the desired Budget Layout View from the list.

Set a Default View (Optional)

Choose a layout view to set as your default, so it automatically loads when opening the project budget.

Manage Layout Views (Optional)

Edit, rename, or archive existing layout views as needed.

Revert to Default View (Optional)

Revert to the default view to restore all columns.

Exporting

Exports to Excel will reflect the selected layout view.

Note: The selected layout will display only the columns you included, simplifying your project budget view.
