Learn how to connect the INGENIOUS.BUILD MCP Server to Microsoft Copilot.

Written by Cara Alva

Overview

INGENIOUS.BUILD can connect to Microsoft Copilot through Microsoft’s MCP connector framework. Once connected, Copilot can securely interact with your INGENIOUS.BUILD workspace to retrieve project data and assist with workflows directly in conversations.

Prerequisites

  • A Microsoft 365 Copilot license

  • Access to Microsoft Copilot Studio or Microsoft 365 Admin Center

  • Admin permissions may be required depending on your organization’s Copilot configuration

Setup

1. Open Copilot Connectors

In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, navigate to:

Copilot → Connectors

Then select:

Gallery → Create a new connector

2. Add the INGENIOUS.BUILD MCP server

Under Connect to MCP server, click Add and enter:

Continue through the setup wizard.

3. Configure authentication

Microsoft Copilot supports OAuth authentication for MCP connectors.

During setup, sign in with your INGENIOUS.BUILD account when prompted to securely connect your workspace. Authentication is handled using OAuth, so there are no API keys or credentials to manually distribute to end users.

4. Deploy the connector

After the connector is created, deploy it to users or groups within your Microsoft 365 organization.

Depending on your organization’s setup, admins can stage the rollout for testing before enabling it organization-wide.

Some organizations may require Microsoft Entra or Teams Developer Portal configuration before custom MCP connectors can be deployed.

5. Start using INGENIOUS.BUILD in Copilot

Once connected, users can ask Copilot to help with tasks such as:

  • Find overdue RFIs

  • Summarize pending change orders

  • Review budget variances

  • Create meeting minutes

  • Generate project updates

Copilot can securely retrieve live information from your INGENIOUS.BUILD workspace directly in conversations.
