Gemini & Grok

Learn how to connect the INGENIOUS.BUILD MCP Server to AI platforms that don't support custom connectors.

Written by Cara Alva

Overview

Both Google Gemini and Grok are AI tools that can generate real-time insights, summaries, and structured reports that can be used in INGENIOUS.BUILD workflows.

While neither tool currently supports a native MCP connector to INGENIOUS.BUILD, both can be easily integrated using a simple copy-and-paste workflow or routed through an MCP-enabled assistant like Claude or ChatGPT.

This same approach applies to any AI tool that does not yet support custom connectors or MCP integrations. If a tool cannot directly connect to INGENIOUS.BUILD, you can still use it as an upstream “content generator,” then move its output into INGENIOUS.BUILD manually or through an intermediary AI that does support MCP (such as Claude or ChatGPT).

Prerequisites

  • Access to whichever AI platform you'll be using.

Setup

1. Generate content in Gemini or Grok

Use either tool to create:

  • Summaries

  • Reports

  • Analysis

  • Structured project updates

For best results, prompt for structured output:

“Format this as a project update with clear sections and bullet points”

or

“Give me this as HTML or structured text I can paste into a report”

2. Copy the output

Copy the generated response from Gemini or Grok (text, tables, or HTML).

3. Add content into INGENIOUS.BUILD

Paste the output into INGENIOUS.BUILD using one of the following methods:

  • Directly into project updates, RFIs, meeting notes, or forms

  • Into structured fields for reporting or documentation

  • Or into an MCP-enabled assistant (Claude or ChatGPT) to format and push into INGENIOUS.BUILD automatically

Example prompt:

“Convert this into a structured project update and push it into INGENIOUS.BUILD”

4. (Optional) Enhance via MCP-enabled assistant

For teams using MCP-enabled tools:

  • Use Gemini or Grok for raw insight generation

  • Pass output into Claude or ChatGPT with INGENIOUS.BUILD connected

  • Let the assistant structure and publish data into your workspace

This workflow applies broadly to any AI tool that does not support custom connectors or MCP integration yet. In these cases, the AI acts as a content generation layer only, and INGENIOUS.BUILD becomes the system of record after the output is transferred either manually or through an MCP-enabled assistant. This ensures teams can still leverage the strengths of newer or standalone AI tools without requiring native integrations.
